Deliverance through His Death

DELIVERANCE THROUGH HIS DEATH

Study Text: Hebrews 2:14–15; Colossians 2:14–15

Introduction:

The death of Jesus Christ was not a tragedy, it was a strategic victory.

What looked like defeat was actually the greatest deliverance operation in history.

Hebrews 2:14–15 says:
“…that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

At the cross, chains were broken, powers were defeated, and captives were set free.

Tonight, by the power in His death, every bondage in your life shall be destroyed in Jesus name.

 1. Substitutionary Sacrifice

Christ did not die for Himself—He died for you.

In Isaiah 53:5:
“He was wounded for our transgressions… the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”

Jesus took:
Your sin and gave you righteousness

Your pain and gave you healing

Your curse and gave you blessing

Your rejection and gave you acceptance

He became your substitute on the cross.

Every legal ground the enemy had against you was settled at Calvary.

You are no longer a victim—you are redeemed.

Prayer Point:

Lord Jesus, let the power of Your sacrifice speak for my deliverance tonight in Jesus name.

2.  Supernatural Stripping

Colossians 2:15:
“Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

At the cross, Jesus did not just suffer, He conquered.

He disarmed satanic powers

He stripped demonic authorities

He canceled evil ordinances

He rendered the devil powerless

The enemy lost his legal right to hold you captive.

What Was Destroyed:

Curses and covenants

Witchcraft operations

Generational bondage

Satanic accusations

The devil you fear is already defeated.

Prophetic Declaration:

Every power tormenting your life loses its grip tonight in Jesus name.

3.  Supreme Salvation

“…and deliver them…” (Hebrews 2:15)

Deliverance is not partial—it is total.

Through His death, you are delivered from:

Sin and guilt

Fear and oppression

Satanic bondage

Eternal destruction

In John 8:36:
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

What This Means:
You are no longer bound

You are no longer condemned

You are no longer under satan’s control

Living in This Freedom Requires:

Faith in His finished work

Confession of His victory

Refusal to return to bondage

Deliverance is your inheritance in Christ.

Prophetic Declaration:

You are stepping into total freedom tonight in Jesus name.

Conclusion:

At the cross:

The price was paid

The battle was won

The enemy was defeated

Your freedom was secured

It is not a matter of “if” you will be delivered—it is a matter of enforcing what Christ has already done.
