Walking Together with God
Walking Together with God
Study Text: Amos 3:3
Introduction:
Life is a journey, and every journey is influenced by companionship.
The successes and failures recorded in life have something to do directly or indirectly with your companionship.
In this verse, God reveals a timeless spiritual principle: agreement is necessary for meaningful fellowship and progress.
Two people cannot successfully walk together unless they share the same direction, purpose, and understanding.
This truth applies not only to human relationships but also to our walk with God.
If we desire intimacy with God, progress in life, and harmony in relationships, there must be alignment with His will and His Word.
We shall be discussing the topic under three subheadings:
1. The Principle of Agreement
2. The Partnership through Agreement
3. The Power of Agreement
1. The Principle of Agreement
Agreement is the foundation of every successful relationship.
Whether in marriage, ministry, friendship, or partnership, unity of purpose is essential.
Division produces confusion and stagnation, but agreement produces strength and advancement.
God Himself works in harmony and expects His people to walk in unity.
Psalm 133:1 — “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Examine your relationships and ensure they are built on godly agreement and shared values.
2. The Partnership through Agreement
The purpose of agreement is partnership. Partnership with God requires alignment with His Will.
Walking with God requires surrender and obedience.
Enoch walked with God because his life was aligned with God’s ways.
You cannot walk with God while living contrary to His Word.
Fellowship with God demands holiness, faith, and obedience.
Genesis 5:24 — “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
Align your desires, decisions, and lifestyle with God’s will if you want to enjoy deeper fellowship with Him.
3. The Power of Agreement
Harmony Releases Blessing. Agreement releases spiritual power and divine blessing.
Jesus taught that when believers agree in prayer, heaven responds.
Unity invites God’s presence, favour, and intervention.
The enemy thrives where there is division, but God moves where there is unity.
Matthew 18:19 — “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done…”
Cultivate unity in your family, church, and prayer life, because agreement opens the door to God’s blessings.
Conclusion:
To walk together successfully, there must be:
Principle — agreement in purpose
Partnership — alignment with God
Power — unity that releases blessing.
God is calling us into closer fellowship with Him and with one another. Where there is agreement, there will be progress, peace, and power.
