Marriage is Honourable for Honourable Men

Focus Text: Hebrews 13:4-6

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Marriage should be honoured by all because the source and the purpose of marriage is of God and therefore honourable. 

Unfortunately, we are living in a time where marriage is not honoured, and all kinds of things against the will and purpose of God is being done in the name of marriage or in an attempt to be made.

These days, people enter into marriage anytime and come out of it anytime, it is like cat and dog in marriages where divorce and mutual hatred is the order of the day. But God said that only death should separate married couples, except in the case of adultery by one of the partners. God wants man's life to be pure, and the marriage bed pure and undefiled.

Things are so rotten today that even school boys and girls live together as if they are married couples, and engage in sexual relationship more often that legally married couples, to them, sexual immortalities are described as having funs. Many young boys write to girls love letters and flirt with them. These children are still dependent on their parents but they want to get involved in things not meant for them. This is dishonour to the honourable institution of marriage.

All forms of sexual immortalities are being engaged in by boys and girls, and these are seen as normal things to do to the extent that those who abstain from immortalities are given all forms of evil names. Pornography has become the other of the day in our generation and it is readily and freely available all over, in the TV, on the Internet  even physically in the society as a result of immodest and immoral dressings and practices of young girls, and sometimes the married adult women are also involved.

Studies have shown that pornography causes the same structural damage to the brain that drugs do. When you  look at pornography on TV, the internet, news papers or magazines, you are doing physical, structural damage to your brain.

Many young girls get married in a white veil, signifying marital purity and being chaste, but it is a lie, for she had been touched and flirted with and her true clothes are full of blood stains of several abortions of pregnancies.

Sexual immortalities also include all forms of lustful thoughts. Jesus said when you look at a woman lustfully, you have already committed fornication with her. God takes your thoughts as your deeds and actions.  You might think that you are pure, yet before God your thoughts are so defiled that you are an adulterer and your clothes stained.

The Word of the Lord is encouraging you to walk here on earth as a citizen of Heaven, honouring the institution of marriage a abstaining from sexual immortalities and impurities, and you won't be ashamed on your death bed and also when you stand before God at the Judgement.

This is the Word of God and not that of any man or any denomination: "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

You can do as you like, commit adultery, flirt around while unmarried and you won't get into big trouble in this world. But know that you will still have to stand before the Judge of judges and He said that He will judge those who defile the marriage bed. Jesus said that if you looked at a woman and desired her you have committed adultery already - it is as if you have already done the deed. And those that are married are expected to be faithful to their marital vows and keep themselves pure by only engaging in sexual relationship with their legally married spouses. 

Marriage life should be honoured and respected by all, even the unmarried, because God will judge those who do not honour it.

There is also another kind of immorality, where some have sexual enjoyment without a physical opposite sex, by exciting their bodies in different arousing forms. This is called masturbation and it is  immoral before God.

There are even cases of sexual immortalities with a partner with the same sex. We can have homosexuals these days, where the "girl friend" of this man is another man who behaves like a woman. So too there is lesbianism where two women come together and the one takes the role of a man. These evils have been driven home so much that certain Nations are approving same sex marriage by law, and certain denominations are accepting to join them in marriage. The extreme worst part of this sexual perversion is sex with animals where the animals can either be the male partner or the female partner. All these sexual perversion are evil before God and God will judge such. God will judge the sexually immoral as stated in His Words.

The only way to get true freedom from your sexual immorality is to bring it to the light of the Word of God, in deep repentance, and to be washed from your filth in the Blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14).

One Hymn says: Have you been to Jesus for the Cleansing Power, are you washed in the Blood of the Lamb? No matter how long you have been or how far you have gone in sexual immortalities, perversions and impurities, Jesus will cleanse you completely if you will truly repent and sincerely turn your life to Him to receive the free gift of Salvation. Isaiah 55:6 - 8

Prayers: 

1.  I release myself for the cleansing by the Blood of Jesus to cleanse me from all filthiness of the spirit and of the flesh. 2 Corinthians 7:1

2.  Lord let the light of your word reach out to everyone, youths, married and unmarried to be able to honour the institution of marriage and be free from sexual immortalities.
